The Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear will once again be held on the Streets of Downtown Detroit in 2025.

When is the Detroit Grand Prix?

Map of the Track and Franklin Garage

Here's the location of the track (track layout) and the Franklin Garage so you can get an idea of where to park and nearby hotels.

Where to Park at the Detroit Grand Prix

There is only one parking structure available within the venue for public parking: The Franklin Garage.  This garage is located between Franklin Street and Woodbridge. Parking spaces only sold in advance and you must have a venue admission ticket.

It's pricey!  Single day tickets are $100 and two day tickets are $200.

But there are several other surface lots and parking garages in Downtown Detroit.

A great option is the The Detroit People Mover as you can exit the transit system at the Renaissance Center station which is inside the venue footprint. Riding the People Mover is free. Visit the People Mover website to find a hotel/parking within walking distance of a station.

These parking structures are NOT open for paid public parking during the event:

  • Millender Garage
  • Center Garage
  • Port Atwater Garage
  • Beaubien Garage
  • River East Garage

Where to Stay at the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix to See the Indycar Races

We have personally stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott and the GM Renaissance Center several times. We like to stay at these hotels as they are in a safer location, very close to Hart Plaza, The Fist, Guardian Building and the Detroit Riverwalk.

Both hotels have safer parking in garages with attendants/fees so your vehicle is not on the street.

GM Renaissance Center - 400 Renaissance Center, Detroit, MI

The GM Renaissance Center isn't just a hotel, it is home to several restaurants, shops and businesses. There is a fast food court on the lower level and you can shop at the GM Store and see several GM vehicles on display.

We absolutely loved our room, it was very clean, quiet and the ceiling to floor windows offered such a panoramic view of Detroit and Canada!
