If you are visiting lovely Sleeping Bear Dunes, you absolutely must visit the breathtaking Arcadia overlook located on M22. Also called the Arcadia scenic turnout, you will be rewarded with incredible views of Lake Michigan and Sleeping Bear Dunes!

Where is the Arcadia Scenic Turnout (Inspiration Point Overlook) Located? See Our Map!
The Inspiration Point Arcadia Overlook is located on M-22 just north of Arcadia Michigan. It is located on the west side of M-22. Arcadia Scenic Turnout is also a couple miles south of the CS Mott Nature preserve which is an incredible place to walk and explore.
Per Manistee County, there are 120 steps to the top! I'm glad they counted as we were so mesmerized on the view that we forgot to count!
It's free to climb to the top of breathtaking Inspiration Point Arcadia Overlook. Be sure to take lots of photos! The views are incredible in the fall too so Chris and I like to include it in our Michigan fall color tours.
Isn't this view in our Great Lakes State just magnificent?
And the best part is...
You can enjoy this lovely view just a few steps from your vehicle because at this point, you are 370 feet above the shoreline!
Even if you don't climb the stairs, you can enjoy the beauty of Lake Michigan and Sleeping Bear Dunes!
Inspiration Point is definitely a Michigan vacation destination when visiting Sleeping Bear Dunes.
There is a porta-john (primitive restroom) in the parking lot but it's run out of TP a few times so we always travel with a roll in our vehicle. But we are always glad when there's a roadside toilet!
As you can see by the arrow, it's only a few short steps to the boardwalk and stairs right from the parking lot. Enjoy!
